Inside or Outside...

from your experience in playing...which line do you carry better with...playing the inside line or by the channels...

I carry best in the track area - however, it's all about entry angle so if you can control that, it shouldn't matter

I carry better when I can play towards the outside.  On my thursday nite league I'm throwing a 7 year old elite pearl drilled for length because it allows me to play the out portions of the lanes.  I just got back from ABC and as soon as I got to 4th Arrow it was 10 pin city.  I just don't have the hand to carry the deep inside line, but I knew if I tried to play outside I'd be lucky to hit the head pin.

I guess it depends on what the lanes dictate and the ball that I have in my hand. I have bowled in different houses with my Animal where I've carried playing 20-15, 20-10 and off the gutter as well. Overall I think my carry is better from the outside.

I agree with ozsweet, the entry angle is all important. It is easier for me to get the proper angle from the outside. If I get too deep I personally don't have the hand to get it back to the hole from my preferred breakpoint which is always basically the same for me.

I tend to carry better from deeper. My speed is not very high (usually around 16mph), but my revs are fairly high, so a bigger hook gives the ball time to get into a better roll. (this is on a THS though) If I throw it faster and straighter, I tend to leave back row pins more. (9 pin is not uncommon for me)

i am a  hgih rev med speed player usually.  carry is usually better inside, until you get really deep...deerper then TJ was playing on the show sunday.  then i get tougher to get the ball asound the corner and kick the 10 out.  but generally if i throw it good i carry.  when i leave something it is usually because i made a mistake somewhere.  its just about matching your shout to the lanes on a given day.

depends on the house for me... one seems to carry better in the track area... other seems to "like" playing the swing.

Being a "cranker" most people expect me to have my highscores from playing inside, when actually most of them actually are from playing somewhere from 10 and out near the twig..

For me, I score better from the outside.  I view moving inside as a "defensive" adjustment.  I move inside because there isn't anything outside.  I have had honor scores from the first to fifth arrows, but I score consistently better from the outside.
