Think it would also depend on how fast you ball speed is...
Obviously if you ball speed is faster your rev rate will be higher and if slower lower...

Yup. A rough estimate/conversion from hand revs to RPMs is to multiply the hand revs by 19-20, which would mean something around 450 RPM for you - if the hand revs have been recorded correctly. Besides, it is just a ROUGH estimate with a lot of variance. Say 400+, that should fit, medium to high RPMs.

Dizzy.....I'd like to be medium!  Your medium!

Walter Ray is medium in my mind compared to ALL bowlers!  Low for PBA players.

i know the hand revs is counted correctly. as it has been done several times with camera and it is consistent. it could also be that equation that is some what wrong. but i dont know that is why i asked in here

makpa,
Search feature is very handy. You should try it from time to time

rockteschel,
As you know, with the friction and the axis migration, balls rev harder down the lane. That's why rev rate is usually measured with the only revs created till some point before the ball reaches backends. It can be first 10 frames, till arrows etc. Than it is multiplied by a factor to compute rpms or hand revs..

In any case, 24 hand revs is really huge, if you are not rolling with 6mph ofcourse

A way to get it close is to use the formula: revolutions/seconds =r/60. 18 mph equals 2.2 seconds from foul line to headpin(average speed).Using your counted revolutions of 24 down the entire lane ,the formula would yield 654 rpm!You are definitely high rpm!
