RS-X, Oracle, Vertigo or GP2 for heavy oil ???
« on: May 17, 2005, 09:44:22 AM »
For the knowledgable bowlers out there ... based upon my PAP and other info (in my profile) which ball do you think would work best for me and WHY ??? I've compared the RGs and Differentials but I'm still torn ...
I'm currently rolling Track and RotoGrip primarily, but I've heard good things about the Vertigo.

Well it all depends on what you want from the ball Lay, you are comparing 3 different types of balls. (a particle, a low RG, a Strong Resin) The Oracle is gonna give you a strong read on oil, I do own one, and will not ever overreact if there is a hole in the pattern, but will burn up if there is not enough oil.  The RSX has a high Diff and Low RG which will give you a great midlane read, but for TRUE oil, you will prolly have to alter the surface by taking it down to at least 1000 GRIT, if not 800.  Which brings us to the Vertigo, which is remarkably similiar to the Oracle, but is not particle, which is great if you have slower ball speed because the ball will not burnout as quickly as the Oracle.  But you will see a bigger Jump on holes within a pattern or when the ball sees strong backends.  Hope this helps....

Robb,

GP2 is the strongest on heavy oil of the equipment you mentioned. Next in line would be the Vertigo. Once you get on heavy oil though, you will need the early roll that the GP2 offers, yet it will still backend very strong. The Vertigo shows strength, but on longer patterns it will not turn the corner. <<<<<this is based on me watching it thrown, I have not thrown one.

I had an Oracle before I joined staff, it is a good ball. Very smooth and very predictable. It is not quite an oiler.
