How many of you's buy used bowling balls?

Just a curious survey...

How many people have bought used equipment and/or sold your drilled equipment?

I don't think I've ever bought a pre-drilled ball. But I've sold a few of my old stuff, prolly given more away than sold.

i just purchased the first used balls i've ever bought from jeffrevs.  can't wait to get them!!  a couple of buzzsaws.

i've sold maybe 6 of my balls in the past, and have given away a dozen or more.  i'd rather help out a pal than worry about the money.

I do both: buy and sell/trade/give used balls. Sure I prefer a new ball, don't we all?  Used balls are a great way to "explore" how a new piece of equipment may or may not work for you without expending the extra money for a new ball.  Trading is a great way to create a (potentially) mutually beneficial situation - you get rid of a ball that's not working for you that may be great for the other person, and vice-versa.

I've also given away two balls this year to teammates.  I didn't need/want them and my teammates benefited.  Hey, better chance at prize money at the end of the year, but that's not truly why I gave the equipment away

As far as incoming stuff, I try to stay away from used balls with more than a single drill.  My past experience has been that balls with too many plugs tend to have odd quirks in roll and/or hit.

My pro shop guy has an arrangement with Columbia and gets equipment to try out.  If he likes it he keeps it, but if he doesn't he saves them.  When I need a new ball, I tell him what I need and he makes recommendations.  He will then sell me one of his very slightly used balls for $60.  So I get a almost NIB, plugged and redrilled for $60.  Our hands are very similar, so usually its just the fingerholes which get plugged.

Ive figured I already saved 220 on two balls I've bought like this.
