App or site to keep stats
« on: January 10, 2015, 12:27:40 PM »
I'm looking for an app or a website that could help me keep my stats, I found one but it's only for Android (Bowling Spirit).

For those who play golf there's a site, oobgolf.com, which is good to keep your stats and have a nice analysis of your game, pretty much that would be the site or app I'm looking for bowling. Any ideas?

+1 for pinpal for iOS. I think you can get a trial version free Pin Pal Lite to check it out prior to purchase.

The perfect game app has been freezing on me with the recent updates, therefore not recommended by me.

For andriod I use strike out stats.

I would be interested to know why someone would keep stats.  I keep mental notes about lane to lane characteristics, but I'm curious on the reason behind keeping results from every frame.

I can only speak for myself, but I do it to keep track of various things like which spares I need to work on in practise, how consistant my ball speed is, am I missing my target consistantly left or right, my starting point and target for each lane, etc.  But I think the main reason is that I used to be the one to keep score back in the day of telescores, so now I use this to keep me focused during league.

Mental notes are good, but certain lanes have certain special traits to them as well. I can go back and see what I was using, where I was standing, and what my target was for each lane in a particular house. Bowling in a couple different houses over various lane numbers I cannot keep up with exact stats.

Before apps I had steno pads that I kept notes on, a different steno pad per house I bowled in.

Also knowing what percentage of a certain pin you are leaving or a missed spare conversion you need to work on may help in some people's scores.

To each their own, if it helps: use it, if it don't: stop.

Personally to keep record of how my game is going from month to month, spare, strike and open frame %, and as MI said, to check what are the spare shots I need to keep on practicing.

Been bowling for a year and by keeping track of this stats been able to improve my game from a 140 avg to 185, so far and I'm glad to see the spare % increasing thanks to practicing the shots I leave the most.

If there was enough interest for Windows Tablets I could whip one up fairly quickly :-)

I have been using best bowling and like the out put it can provide.
Strike, spare, split, and open % it also shows by pin how many you have left and covered.
This is on my iPhone.

I may give it a shot just to see, but nothing changes much for me, it really depends more on how I feel that night.
