rules for making up in a league, twice for same night
« on: December 01, 2011, 01:14:13 PM »
is it legal to make up a league night of bowling, than after not bowling good because of the lane conditions, protest the lane conditions to be able to rebowl the made up games?  i had a team do this in my league and the association gave the team permission to rebowl the games.  i am wanting to know the usbc rules of this situation, any help would be appreciative.

If you are wanting to know what the rules are look them up on bowl.com or contact USBC directly.  You will get the answer you are looking for directly from the horse's mouth or book.

I'd like to hear more, if you push the issue. Sounds odd to me. Couldn't the manager just have moved them to a new pair? A couple weeks back, I stepped in a drying puddle of soda  from open bowling before league by the scorers table - guess I should have just went home.

As long as the lane conditions are within USBC specifications, then no they can't re bowl.  I get a mixed bag of a condition every week during my one league.  You just bowl and deal with it.  When you pre or post bowl, your never going to get the same condition you would have during your normal league bowling time.

I believe the USBC will say a game once bowled stands.

I had this problem before once they bowl the games should stand as is once you stop pratice bowling and start bowling for league the scores should stand, also when u pre bowl or post bowl the conditions are never the same they should of never continued bowling after practice if they wanted to protest, dont do it after u bowl bad thats poor sportsmanship.

Thank you for the posts, my team has formally protested the second time this team made up. Found out the owner of the bowling alley let them rebowl there makeup games against us because this team bowled poorly because of lane conditions. Will find out Friday before league what happens. Thank you all again
