What is a high average?

What is considered a high average now a days?   220's?   230's?   240's?  250's?

I would say it would have to depend on too many variables...such as the lane conditions (old wood vs newer synthetics, quality of pin spotters, etc) and oil patterns that are played on.

 

I know here locally that any particular bowlers average can vary as much as 20-25 pins depending on what house he/she bowls in. This is based soley on the THS, and not sport patterns which can also create other swings in averages.

 Depends  on the pattern in relation to what type of lane surface the pattern is on.

Go by the house. Take the top 10 to 20% of averages from that house and it gives you a ball park.(that gives you a good number for that house)
 
 
In general there are places every years where bowlers have a league average of 250+
