Running it out. . .
« on: July 05, 2006, 04:48:33 AM »
Does it just PO you?
Should you only do it on the 12th of a 300 in progress?
Should you not do it iit all?

What do you think?
(running it out=walking down 3 or 4 lanes after a ball is thrown)

Its hard to play with an inferno and not get burned. Last time I threw my inferno, the opposing bowler definitely got burned.

MY INFERNOS WILL SMOKE YOU!!!

1991 YABA Top 20 Tournamnet at Oak Hills in San Antonio, there was this douche bag named Jeff (I forget his last name). Anyway, he was running out every
first ball for almost two lanes. I wanted to throw my ball at him. He sucked. Only run it out if it's number 12! Otherwise, have some freakin' respect.

running it out.  Dang these people never bowled in the leagues i do.  Cause we are all right there ready to bowl.  Little johnny isn't going to be as happy with that strike when he crosses into my path celebrating and 6'5" of 309 pounds hits him with 16 pounds of swinging bowling ball.  Seriously i mean i have seen pro's and people in big tourney's run out strikes how would anyone do this in league.

I didn't even run out my two 300's. The whole idea is stupid unless you're on TV like the big boys.

First the shot should mean something….. a game winning shot,  an honor score, etc… not just for a double or turkey early in the game.

Second it should be restricted to your approach and maybe the adjacent, running one out 3 or 4 lanes had better be to win a PBA major and in most leagues you could end up with a collision.

Lastly I’m like Ragnar, I’m lucky if I can walk back and sit down let alone “run” a shot out. I’m just so old, weak, and feeble anymore I have to restrict my movements to save energy.

On a funnier note, there is a guy around here who, in the old tournament club tournies, would, on occasion, do the flop.  If he was the last to finish in a game, ie, if he had open lanes to one side, he would run across a couple of approaches then flop on his stomach and slide a ways.

Like some have said, I don't see any reason to run something out in leagues - not even a 300.  Now I might slap one off now and then, but that's about it.

I had a guy on my team drop his pants and procede to "ride" the ball return after we won the league championship a few years back.  Good thing he had boxers on.  I'm not sure the other team appreciated it, they would have probably rather seen him run it out a few lanes.

I'll do it sometimes in matchplay of a tourney ( I"m a youth bowler) And if you think about it, this can get into your opponents head i mean think about it you throw your shot and with the ball half way down the lane you start to run it out it shows that you've got confidence that your gonna strike and that you got a line and it forces your opponent to start pressing.

Easy way to fix someone running out shots, just time your approach to knock him into the next county. Preferably with your ball.
