Title: Running Pots/Brackets
Post by: Elimeno Pee on February 10, 2014, 03:13:28 PM
How many people run pots during their leagues?  Do you charge anything to run them?  (i.e.- free entry, or other amount?)

I just get a free entry to either the eliminator, singles league or high game pot. With brackets, you'll have to decide what is fair.

I run a high game/high series pot, and brackets and take nothing.  Running them is getting a little distracting, but nobody else wants to run anything.  I'm thinking about swapping the brackets to 25/10 payout with 5 for me, but feel slightly guilty doing so, but there's only a few guys that will throw some cash my way when they win for running the crap.  i don't wanna kill the pots, but...

I run brackets in our monthly travel league.

$5 singles and $10 doubles.

The singles pay $25 & 10 and the doubles pay the full $60 & 20.

Elimeno Pee if you run brackets using a standard brackets program, you will get your payout based on the number of brackets you run, so you don't have to worry about allotting anything for yourself. The program does it for you.

As for other high game pots, I have always just depended on a tip from the winner for my take.

For $5 brackets, 25/10 payout is pretty standard. $5 goes to the person running them.

You could always put the extra $5 per bracket into the sweeper fund.

I run $5 brackets...  I keep $2...   Usually everyone will split after 2 games for $19...  I go around durning game three and ask everyone one, then go back around and give them $20 for $1...  Usually get 1-2 scratch and 6-10 handicap in a one 70 bowler and one 50 bowler leagues..

I run Brackets and Eliminator in my league, $5 each and I keep nothing.  All funds paid out.  Brackets pay $25 and $15, Eliminator is 50%, 33%, and 17% (rounding off the cents).  Scott
