A friend emailed me the obituary for Luis Gonzales today. At one time he owned The Pioneer Bowl on Pulaski and then about 5 or 6 years ago he purchased the Town Hall Bowl in Cicero.
My wife & I used to go bowling there on Sunday afternoons during the summer - once a month, maybe twice. Luis was always attentive and jovial and he remembered us after our first visit.
He worked with youth bowlers in the area and spent alot of time turning the Town Hall around. We met his family there and they were always just as fun to be around as Luis was.
We weren't close w/ him, but I always enjoyed talking with him when we stopped in for a few games.
My thoughts & prayers are with his family. Chicagoland has lost "one of the good ones".

Wow. He came on as a replacement on my dad's Thursday afternoon Senior Travel team. My dad said he was a very nice man and one heck of a bowler. I think he went 7-8 weeks in a row shooting at least 700.
Very sad.

wow, so he was killed or at least thought to be killed/murdered and was killed/dead at the bowling alley? wow...
-
that part of town is pretty tough, wonder what the cause/reason was.

I'm just curious about my question asked earlier about him being killed/murdered at the center. May God Bless his Family as well...

I heard it was over 11-12, but he past away in the center. Very nice man. My thoughts are someone might have tried to shake him down for protection money. Figure he did not pay, and they made an example out of him. God rest his soul.
