This especially sucks for me. I was the center manager. Damn economics. The place was just turning around too!

No warning. Just "AMF has decided to close your center."

Here in the Dallas area we are hearing AMF Hurst and AMF Irving are also closing.  We also have reports the center in Ennis is also shutting down.  It's a sad day for bowling.

Any chance you can scrape up the dough and investors to buy it from AMF.  They think its a money loser, you think its turning around.  Maybe they'll give you a deal.  Could be a once in a lifetime opportunity!

No warning. Just "AMF has decided to close your center."

No chance. AMF will completely strip it down. Lanes, machines, ice machines, coolers, everything wortha dollar and then distribute part to their other centers. There will be nothing left but a shell of a building.

AMF seems to be closing centers all over the country.  I wish they would report how many they are closing down.  But I guess since they are not a publicly traded company they dont have to do that.

At the end of last season, I know my center was looking to upgrade the lanes from wood to synthetic. Maybe the prices will be better now.

If you own 302 centers and owe $337 million that is more than the total value of the centers all together.  There is almost zero chance of selling them when you can build a brand new modern center right next door for less money.  Coming up with the cash is almost impossible.  You could see AMF folding up like a house of cards before this is over.  At that point there may just be a fire sell on bowling centers and the industry could be in major trouble.
