A friend of mine had a similar phenomenon, with just one ball. At that time had a 5" over, +/-0 PAP, with the track pretty close to the middle finger hole. With the new ball, he'd frequently track higher, rolling across the middle finger hole. We were puzzled, and even consulted the pro shop from where he had bought the ball. The piece was actually a test ball which was given to the pro shop owner, who was/is amateur staffer and frequently test new stuff before it hits the local market. But we weighed it again, even watched him play and could not find a reason! Our theory was/is that is was some kind of subconscious release change with the new ball. Breaking back the wrist can raise the track, and changing axis tilt can also affect the initial track.
Anyway, as Charlest mentions: it is nothing "wrong", as long as the user generates a stable ball reaction. IMHO it is strange, but it happens!
