Upper Midwest BallReviews gathering/tournament

Ok, chumps.  Here's your one shot at Glory.  It's time to put up or shut up.  I've had a chance to pick the brain of area businesses and we'd love to have you up to Watertown, Wisconsin for a tournament.  Need a place to stay?  We'll cover that.  Wanna know what the shot is?  We'll cover that.  Wanna come up to our neck of the woods for a dinner/get together Saturday evening at one of the area's finer establishments?  We've got yer hook up there, too.  It won't take long before Labor Day is here and most of us will have our tournaments schedules filled.  So, let's have something the first weekend in August which will accompany Watertown's annual Riverfest celebration, a four-day festival with headlining bands and TONS of food and beverages!  So, I want to see a crapload of folks make the trip for this.  I'm talkin' everyone within shouting distance of Chicago.  Whaddaya say?  $80-100ish entry fee, somewhere around $800-1000 first place based on 54 entries, with a portion of the proceeds going to Jerry Lewis' Labor Day Muscular Dystrophy telethon?  Let's make this a special event.

Here's a link that will tell you a little more about Watertown's semi-famous Riverfest celebration.  Imagine something similar to a State Fair in a non-farm setting.

http://www.wdtimes.net/riverfest.htm

If you're a fan of fireworks, Bartolotta's, the same folks that do Milwaukee's Big Bang at Summerfest in June work with the Chamber of Commerce in Watertown for Riverfest.  A spectacular show.  Plus, one of the area's best car shows and a HUGE craft fair on the Riverside Park Island on Sunday morning.

Hey....It sounds like a fun time to me.  I live down by St. Louis, but would probably make the trip up for it.  When you get some more details, let me know.

This is about 90% a certainty.

I'd like to get an idea of how many of the ballreviews.com members are gonna show up.  There's a lot of positive feedback coming my way from the local bowlers.

I'd be there assuming the timing works out.  I know it's still in the planning stages, but any clue as to a timeframe on this one?

First weekend in August.

Like I said, it will coincide with Watertown's Riverfest celebration.  That way, it will give people two reasons to make the trip.  Check the link and notice that there's a couple of pretty decent bands on tap for the event, and it's FREE!
