ARE U USUALLY OVER OR UNDER BALL RECOMMENDED USAGE?
« on: June 07, 2005, 03:47:20 AM »
When i look to get a new ball I may read a few reviews and then i look at the manufacturers recommended usage I have found the following.

If they say med-heavy oil it is a heavy oiler for me.

If they say medium is a med-hvy ball, med-light is my bench mark balls, etc.

What about you... what do you find?

i find that anything that says "heavy oil" doesn't actually hook that hard. and anything "med-light" is actually rather aggressive.  Maybe its the way I throw it, but its kinda like that.  A ball that is brand new will hook like hell.  I remember when I first got my Vortex II PEarl I couldn't keep it on the right side of the lane because it finished so hard.  however, when I first got my buzzsaw carbide or my Rule GP2 they didn't hook out of the building.  They both hooked early, but nothing jaw dropping.  Another factor is that a brand new reactive for its first 20 games is ridiculous in its hooking and backend power.  but after that, i'd say that the manufacturers are reasonable...everybody has a different style and a different release.  they do the best they can.
