to alleviate pain in your middle finger? I am aware of the possibilities, just want to know what you did. Thanks a lot.

I made some changes to the span of my ring finger.  I had a lot of pain a long time ago in my ring finger.  The middle has never given my any trouble.  The ring finger has 1/4 reverse and 5/8 right lateral.  The middle has 3/8 reverse with 1/4 left lateral.  My thumb is 0 - 0, 7/8's round.  One piece of white tape in the front of the thumb hole just to get a feel for when I release the ball. I have a very round thumb.  My span is 4 inches in both fingers.

9 times out of 10 too long a span is the culprit of finger pain.

You can try different pitches, particularly reverse. If you don't use inserts you might try them.

Sometimes drilling an Index finger hole will relieve some of the pressure. But that can do funny things to a release.

I believe I sprained my middle finger while bowling months ago.  I have since changed from a milled oval hole to a vacu-grip for my middle finger

I will also take a 4" piece of 1.5" wide white athletic tape, split in half, and wrap it around the middle segment of my finger.
