The rougher the finish (1000 grit is rougher than 2000 grit is rougher than 4000 grit) the earlier it will hook and the more head/midlane oil you will need to enable the ball to be effective. The earlier it hooks the more overall it will hook and the less apparentbackend it will have.
Since you're using the same polish with every grit level, that is a constant and should not change the picture. That is it won't be a factor. All balls will continue to get decent length.
The bowler's release and the oil patter/lane surface are the major factors, much more sigificant than the surface. So the actuall ball path will depend on those.
