I'm a hybrid
I throw both. I started with 16, since I was a manly man and all. I switched to 15 because I used to get a great discount on some slightly used balls from my driller. Once I began using 15, I loved them. However, I still use a 16 lb Track Champ, since it's my heavy oil ball and typically on heavy oil, you want slower speeds. My plastic spare ball is still 16, but I think I'm going to change that since switching back and forth during most frames is more noticeable than a whole game.
One thing I also will do is when I have a hard time getting loose, throw the 16 a few times focusing on no resistance and letting the ball swing my arm. Then go back to the 15 and see if I got it worked out. Hope this was somewhat helpful
Edit: Didn't mention pro's of 15. Pro's would be it is easier to put a little more on the ball to get it down the lane further, plus I seem to carry better. I like how the ball deflects a bit more, seems like the 16 is more driving. That may be based on the ball more than the weight, but its what I find. I can bowl longer with the 15's, less fatigue.
Con's are that it can be too tempting to really wing it, and if my mechanics are off on a night I can jerk the ball around instead of swinging it smoothly. With a 16, I know right away if I did it but on the 15 I really watch my ball speed closely. (Pro would be I'm paying more attention I guess)

D <~~~~ Used to be terrible wiffing 10 pins. Now through much practice, can wiff any single pin spare at any time.
