Sean Rash = Embarrasing
« on: May 10, 2008, 09:03:52 AM »
Just watched the clash on CBS and let me tell you what a joke Sean Rash is. He needs to take it down a couple of notches and stop acting like a kid after he bowls a strike. The first thing he should of done is went over to the kid he bowled against and extended his hand. He displayed no class at all in yelling at the crowd like a maniac. Way to go Sean! You are classless.

I think Lynda B took Sean down a notch smacking him around most of the game, and beating him in the end.

I'm so glad that Lynda won , she has very low revs , I think they said 175 and Rash had like it was either 425 or 455 . I guess it shows that revs aren't everything, its nice to see accuracy counts for something. Again hats off to Lynda

i missed the Saturday telecast, what exactly did i not see? also, how old was this "kid" Rash was bowling? Rash himself is only 25

He is 20. So he is not a kid.

From bowl.com:

A year after finishing seventh at the USBC Junior Gold Championships, Martinez, 20, of San Antonio broke through to win the U.S. Junior Amateur title. He is a two-time Greater San Antonio Bowling Association Youth Bowler of the Year and also is a two-time winner of the Texas Youth Masters championship.

that's not good enough for some people on here that won't look past the fact that he throws a back up ball..Some will say he can't be competitive that way..I think he will be..he's been competitive for some time now.

And it was nice to hear Sean was a little more subdued this time around. I missed the second show with exception to the beginning of the first match due to a tornado in the area and local news taking over every local station.

I agree that maybe Sean was trying to put/keep some excitement in the game, though maybe this time in poor taste.  The pro bowlers are trying to add some life/excitement to bowling on television especially in hopes to bring back the viewers and sponsors, though again I say, maybe he went too far on this venue.

Nothing wrong with throwing a backup ball, just a bit unusual at that level.

Um...did you watch the match? Lynda Barnes got lucky on at least 3 shots. So her "accuracy" was not all that. Sean Rash's balls were pretty much allthere. She bowled great and won, but Rash bowled better.

I don't recall seeing Rash fall off his shots. Has he always had that technique?

I didn't actually see this event, but I haven't been a big fan of Sean's since he won his first title. On that first show he appeared humble and excited to win. Since then, he just comes off as cocky and arrogant.

Now, it's probably already been said, but it's pretty obvious that Sean is the PBA's new bad boy, supplanting PDW. I'm sure he's being encouraged to take it up a notch and get a little bit crazy, but there are limits. It sounds as if he went over the line a bit here. Oh well, that's the way it goes these days. The PBA is always looking to attract newer, younger sponsors, so this is the byproduct.

I'm honestly not shocked by this coming from Rash, I don't know why everyone else is.  I don't find it too out of the ordinary for him.  The Youtube video doesn't show all of it?

Go to the YouTube link above and watch this one. 2008 Clash of Champions Mens Match 2 It's at the very end.

Unless there's more that isn't shown, I don't see what the big deal is.

Alright, I'm probably going to get flamed for this but I completely agree... After watching this on Youtube, if that shows everything, I don't see what the big deal is... In fact, I think it could be just what bowling needs.... I'm sorry, but I would rather watch my lawn grow than watch Walter Ray Williams bowl. Walter Ray could put insomniacs to sleep. You all may disagree but you will watch Sean Rash next time, like him or not, just to see what he'll do next.... I have to be honest, I like his intensity and arrogance. I find it refreshing with professional bowling. I also think having a bad guy is good for the PBA, now all they need is an exciting good guy, and please don't try to tell me WRW is exciting...LOL...

YEAH BABY YOU WANT SOME OF THIS!!!
COME AND GET IT!!!
YEAH COME ON!!!
good ball *hand shake*
YEAH COME ON ARKANSAS!!!!
COME ON V.I.B YOU OUT THERE WHERE ARE YOU!!!

He sounds like an idiot and he is a jerk. I made a big deal about it because I saw it once and I hate him. Watching it again he just looks like an idiot. If you find that entertaining someone trying to be the next PDW then you go ahead. The difference will always be PDW was just being PDW and Sean Rash is just trying to be PDW.

That's all fine and good, but this wasn't a PBA event. It was a USBC event. If the PBA wants to promote that kid of pro wrestling, heel-vs-face type of conflict on their telecasts, that is their right. But on a telecast meant not to showcase the PBA, but rather the entire spectrum of competitive bowling, people who don't typically watch PBA telecasts got to watch a professional react in that way towards a very inexperienced amateur. It just wasn't a very bright thing to do.

That does not show him yelling at the kid.

He directed it toward the crowd, not the kid.

I just watched it again on the YouTube clip and i'm even more disgusted with Rash's behavior. Maybe this is just a sign of the times and what is now acceptable in American sports competition. One thing i do know, if you celebrated the way Rash did not too long ago people would think your nuts. Like something was seriously wrong with you.
