Second Dimension Pearl Sanded Losing Power

I have a Storm Second Dimension which is my first ball out of my bag.  I sanded it to 1,000 abralon but it seems almost like I am leaving more pins than I normally should.  Is it possible that the ball is using up too much energy and is almost burning out and not hitting the pins as hard as it should?  This is the first bowling season for me, so I am not well educated on anything in the game.

Do an oil extraction (pick one) then re-surface back to OOB specs. That should do it..

 

If not, your ball has died.  But, they do make great garden gnomes if that does happen..

More than likely, yes, it's rolling too early and losing hitting power. 1000 abralon is a pretty rough surface, and the Second Dimension's coverstock is really strong and needs a fair bit of oil, no matter if it's dull or polished. Try hitting it with 2000 or even 4000 abralon. Or you might try leaving it at 1000 but applying a light coat of polish.  (You don't need to shine it up like a marble, just a light coating to get the ball to skid a little more in the oil)

That's actually the surface I settled on with the 2D..1k and polish.  It's pin up and finally was consistant for me. Also, for me, it responds better with less tilt, strange as that sounds.
