anywhere from .50/bowler/week to $1.50/bowler/week.  Usually senior and youth leagues are less. Scratch leagues and larger leagues more.

I think $0.40 to $0.50 a week is fair per bowler. If the secy is also the treasurer than $0.75 to $0.85 for both jobs.

I get $37.50 per team per year. 6 teams of 3 bowlers = $225. probably a tad on the low side.

Seems like there are two postings discussing (practically) the same thing!

If the secretary is actually doing the weekly recaps and the lane assignment and the Averages and the AWARD follow-up .. PAY THEM. If the HOUSE is doing these functions .. combine the SEC/TRES functions and PAY that person .. that DOESN'T mean you double the PAYMENT!

Costs are too high now to be spending league fees foolishly!

Bear with me while I try to figure this out ..I may be mistaking!

- 20 teams in a league
  4 bowlers on a team
  36 week league
  .75 x 4 x 20 x 36 = $2,160.00

- $20  per bowler (bowling fee)
  36 week season
  $20.00 x 36 = $720

- sec/tres fee $2,160
  One bowler fee $720
  $2,160 / $720 = 3

It takes 3 bowlers all season long to pay for sec/tres fees! Does that sound OUTRAGEOUS to anyone but me????

All the leagues around here the Secretary/Treasure jobs are combined into one.

Most leagues run 35 to 50 cents a person per night.

I have one league that simply says the secretary bowls free.

To be honest with you ..NO I HAVE NEVER DONE TREAS DUTIES .. I have been Pres many times. Would I be SEC/TREAS for that FEE .. you bet! Now you be honest with me .. how many leagues have TREAS that are willing to GIVE UP the job?

Every league (98%) that I've been in .. at the season end .. they elect Treas for NEXT SEASON by the existing President recommending STATUS QUO on the officers and theres a unanimous YEA from the exiting bowlers! I don't argue the point that exception should be taking then .. BUT .. give me my prize fund and get this over with is the general feeling!

You should try the job before commenting on how "ridiculous" paying that much is.

Let's say it takes the secretary of a large league 5 hours a week to do the paperwork/handle money/get the recaps ready.

5 x 36 = 180 hours of work
180/2160 = $12/hr

Is that really that ridiculous?
