just a thought to ponder
« on: March 02, 2005, 01:06:32 PM »
Was talking to bobmatt on AIM and he was saying how dry the lanes were today for him. I said "why not throw particle, so it burns up, doesn't hook a lot, and leaves easy spares?". Anyone do this? I mean, instead of going to weaker and weaker equipment, and eventually plastic, why not go stronger so that it burns up, is very controllable, and more then likely will leave you with a makable spare? (or would it leave too many splits?) Just a thought, have at it.

equipment that rolls out will not give you the area most league bowlers are accustomed to... But if the lanes were tough to begin with, this could be a viable option if the ball isn't polished too high.

Why would one settle for a ball that burns up and only leaves spares, when there is an excellent dry lane ball that will produce strikes?  Lane 1 XXXl

witty post bones, good comeback for the argument. I believe bob7 has a clear wolf already though, so he doesn't need the xxxl.

Balls that burn up cant produce high strike percentages especially on non perfect pocket hits.

a highly polished pearl urethane such as the old Faball Blue Pearl Hammer would work much better than trying to play a roll-out with a particle that hooks at your feet.

Using particle for the hook/set/rollout reaction would not be a bad idea UNLESS the heads are fried as well. If the heads are gone the particle will not get the length needed. If the backends are what was moving horribly the particle could easily be the solution.

Have you guys seen bobmatt's vids?  He's a slower speed player with revs.  He has one video where he's swinging out a clear wolf, so a XXXL won't help.  Though i think if he puts sarge on the rest of his stuff like the wolf he'll be better off.
