Fall/winter bowling is here!
« on: August 07, 2003, 11:41:54 PM »
My league starts in ten days.

1/3 synthetic and 2/3 wood. THS fresh oil. 8-1 ratio. with 8 on the outside.

This year I'm caring only 2 balls to league. starting with 2 turbo diesels.
Just order a 2 ball Hammer tote.

1. pin under ring 5.5 pin to pap 105 deg. 1000 matte
2. Pin over ring 4.5" ( or 5) pin to pap 45 deg. 1500 polished

If the lane transition to quickly I will replace a turbo with a sling Blade.
and If I can't pick the ten up I will carry one strike ball and a spare ball.

anyone else not bringing an arsenal to the lanes?

I could get away with my Crimson Executioner drilled 5x4.  I don't need anything else to shoot the ten pin with.

May bring a Red Fire or Glowing Amulet for drier patterns.

I'm gonna buy me the biggest bus I can find and fill it full of bowling balls.  I figure if I've got every ball drilled every possible way, I can find something that will work!

I will probably take 4.  I could do just as well with 2, but that's when they decide to leave carrydown or put out a long pattern.  I don't see that very often, so I like to have my (slightly) more aggressive stuff just in case - not that I can't adjust for the oil, but that I hate to miss an opportunity to use equip. I paid good $ for.

I will bring old suff for first few weeks. Give the lanes and myself time to build memory. I like gauging needs based upon what I currently have used and where the holes are or if they changed oils or pattern length. 3 balls and plastic for the first month. I'm usually a slow starter anyways.

Unless I find someone to trade me for my Fuze Igniter I'm going to be pretty limited.

Just my Voodoo & my original Red Pearl Hammer.

Hopefully I'll be able to save up the $$ to get the used burgandy hammer I found plugged & drilled.

Other than those, I'm bummin.

I haven't really thought that far ahead yet, as we don't start until after Labor Day.  However, if I end up bowling here in town, I'll bring a couple of polished medium reactives with different layouts (haven't decided which ones yet), and a urethane or plastic ball for spares.  If I decide to brave the awful surface at Earl's place, though, I'll probably bring a Red Hammer and a urethane Scout.

TO EACH HIS OWN!.. I'll bowl the first session with:
- The Thing
- The Charge
- The Afterburner
Probable bowl each game with a different ball .. just the way they are defined.

I always carry two balls to the lanes, but there's always another two in my locker.

I could probably get away with two balls, a Pro Purple and a Wild, but having an AMF Victory on hand, for the heavier side of medium that we sometimes get, gives me a larger comfort zone.

Like last year, I expect to start the season with:

The Spirit or Wildcat - on fresher conditions
The Afterbuner - if the lanes break down
and a spare ball

well,lets see.
to start fall leagues,i guess
i'll have to finish summer leagues
first,in first place in both leagues.

but if the lanes are kept, the same as
they are now,i guess6 balls would be
all in need

cherry bomb,deuce,thing.

particle eraser,WOW,vortex pearl.

these 6 balls are maintaining
my 229 average forthe summer
so i see no reason to change,
even though i also have a sling blade
i got from knoxville,but still haven't
drilled it.
