Seeing Your Messages Here on BR

This new layout  here on BR doesn't have a place off to the left to see if you have any messages like the former layouts always had, so how is a person going to know if he has any messages without having to click on 2-3 confusing different things to even enter his message forum?

Also previously a person could tell if the person he sent the message to read it or not by the bold print of the person it was sent to or not so bold print if it was read.

I think this new layout here on BR is a great improvement over the previous one, especially when using teh quotes in a persons responses, but I would like to see the old message system where you could glance to the left and see if you had any unread messages, returned.

Brickguy,  you should still see that a new message has arrived for you.  Up at the top of the page, where it says My Messages, if you get a new message, it should indicate a number for how many new ones there are.

I don't know about the bold part since I haven't gotten many new messages here to experiment yet.

Edited to add:

You can also add a Notification of any new messages.  If you go to your Profile, Account Settings, Modify Profile, click on Personal Messaging and you can select to receive a Popup for any new messages.
