True Heavy Oil Ball

Looking for opinions on current TRUE heavy oil balls for flat, long patterns.  I'm a stroker with low/med speed, med revs; typically start play up the 5 board and move in as needed.

Roto Cell or the AMB Blue Centaur by Visionary both work well in alot of oil in my opinion drilled a amb for a lefty that has all of 6 revs and throws about 16 to 17mph and it has to be a complete flood for him to even be able to swing it, the cell for me is a very smooth strong roll

True heavy oil balls aren't usually popular with the masses because: 1) you nomally don't use them on house shots, and 2) you normally don't cross lots of boards with them.

My heavy oil ball doesn't see much action, but if the lanes get real ugly it can save my day. It's the BVP Mammoth.

There are some very strong reactive covers on today's equipment that can handle plenty of oil, but even they can give us a false sense of security at times.

"Heavy oil" conditions should require the bowler to not rely completely on his equipment, but to adjust his speed and his release to allow for more forward roll. Good luck.

Do you think the BVP Mammoth is a better oiler than the resurgence by Columbia?

The Brunswick Mammoth is a heavy load particle ball, which is why it handles HUGE amounts of oil. The Resurgence is one of the solid reactives that handles more oil than they used to, but it's like comparing apples and oranges - completely different coverstock.
 
Heavy load particle balls are "arsenal fillers" that may really save you on the extreme oil, or flatter tournament shots, but on the "house shots" you might find more area out on the lanes with the strong reactives. They are also valuable when the lanes have lots of carry-down and the reactives want to "skate".

Two recent Brunswick balls that can handle plenty of oil that are very versatile would be the Fury solid and the Blast Zone. I also agree with the Crowned Prince that the Strike Zone left dull handles lots of oil if you can find a new one. I've got one that I'm saving for the "rainy day" to drill as it has been a favorite of mine. While there are others out there that are also good, I'm kinda' partial to the "big B".
