It takes a long time I think.  Anytime your game can get a little something different which can cause your spare game to hit he dumps.  I shoot spares about twice a week, and still am not totally satisfied.  It is something that takes so much dedication and to put time into it is very hard, because it isn't the funnest thing ever.  Luckily where I bowl we can set up any pin in the deck for spare shooting so practicing any combination can be done easily.
I would say the biggest thing for spares is getting your pushaway in the right spot every time and having consistent speed.

Spare shooting is a constant work in progress. There can be certain spares that are automatic at some points of the year and then other times can be impossible to make. There is no timetable for when you get good at spares, just find a system of lining up and targetting that works for you and practice, practice, practice. During my college days we would have 3 or 4 games of spare shooting practice, 7 pin first ball, 10 pin second ball- 4-7 the next ball, 6-10 the next ball and so forth....or sometimes shooting for one end of the lane first ball, then pick up what you leave for the second ball. Usually we would then bowl a last game for score and be amazed at how much more consistently we were hitting our strike line target...

I am having difficulty understanding your question. But I shot as straight as possible to all spares that dont have sleeper combinations. And in fact, I shoot over the same target for all spares.. 5th arrow. I break my wrist back to eliminate revs, I throw the ball into the lane and loose it at my ankle on purpose. Its about proper hip and should alignment with my pushaway and armswing following the path of the target. If I do these things I will make every spare. Its that simple. This point I tell others.. is that you litterally have about 10 boards at the pins to hit it. That equates to 3 boards at the arrows. As long as I use proper mechaincs (hip/shoulder alignement) I cant miss my target enough to miss the spare.

I think you asked - How many throws?.

I respond that for the first 1000 efforts you are learning the mechanics.  For the next 10,000 throws you are, making muscle memory what it should be.  Above 10,000 you are developing the true art of the perfect delivery.

At no time will you ever become a robot like bowler who does not make mistakes, but, you will be better.

thanks for all the answers ,yes onlybowling what i wanted to know is how many throws to make a muscle memory to throw all the spares straight with plastic...the thing is that i bowl pretty much on sport conditions and i have a very high average and when i finish my set of 6 games i realize that i have maybe five or six opens and that is about 10 pins average...i only throw with plastic my six and ten pin and with my strike release the 7 and the 4 and i want to make everything straight because i am thinking to put my game on another level and like mika koiviniemi said "pros dont miss spares"
again sory for my english i am an international player from argentina so i can speak english like spanish but when it comes to write i have a little bit of trouble
