Sorry to bring up such a sad subject...
« on: June 21, 2011, 08:34:50 PM »
But I read in someone's signature that Thong Princess and Sawbones have both passed on?  I haven't been on the site much in 3-4 years, so this came as a real shocker to me if it is true... Does anybody mind saying what happened to them?  And may they rest in peace.

Two of the great ones.  Colleen and I used to bowl tournaments every year.  Apparently she had a heart attack and passed away on the way to the hospital.  She was in her early 40s.

Thongprincess got her nickname during some air conditioning problems the alley was having.  After about 2 weeks of high heat, she went to the manager and told him if he didn't get it fixed, she was going to show up and bowl in her thong.  Bless her heart, she was not the type of girl you wanted to see in a thong.

Joe had instenal blockage that turned out to be cancer.  He had the surgery and passed away about 3-4 years later.  Believe he was around 87.

That is an incredibly sad thing to hear.  I know they were both amazing people, and I always enjoyed listening to them on the boards here.  Hope all is well with their families.

I first heard about it on bowlingboards when Colleen passed.  She and my wife became close over the  years.  She was the reason that we went to our first Gathering.   The bragging rights tournament has been renamed in her honor.

The 3 is silent.  Except to say "gatheringofbowlers.com"

As I had been gone from bowling for 6 years (and from this site), was sad to hear that news when I started posting again a few weeks ago about them. I posted and PM'd a bit with Sawbones and always enjoyed his insight.

I was also out of bowling and SrKegler let me know through an Email of the loss of two of the ballreview greats.

I used to tune in most days for around 6 to 7 years and look forward to whatever subject sawbones was debating. Along with Hose (his son) and his "endeavors" they were some of the great times on this site.

As for the Thongprincess, boy was she fun to listen to. Would have been nice to have been to one of the Gatherings to meet them both.

I rate our family visits to Florida where we meet up with SrKegler, Kev3inp and Alakazam as some of the best memories of my life. So to have met the greats would have been unforgettable.
