ball spinner supplies
« on: February 15, 2010, 09:06:02 AM »
I ordered a 1/2 hp sinner from innovative bowling. I was told by 2 diff people to get cab blocks.

Now from what i seen those have there own sandpaper (not sure if its attached or not)

Came across this http://www.bowlingball.com/brunswick-finishing-tool-bowling-accessory.html

By looks this to me would be better suited for me (cheaper). Its either that or i make my own with some fiberglass and make my own ball shaped sandpaper holder.

I understand the reason for items like those - equal out pressure- but have also done my share of auto-body work and feel i could adapt.

It "may" be that the cab blocks might be the the best but not at the price i've seen them for.
Not made of money, thats why i invested the money in the spinner. going to save money and time (driving to/from proshop) for surface adjustments.

Actually the Bruns is easier to hold with you hand. What abrasive do you plan to use? The Bruns was originally for trizac pad and the cab has velcro for their special sandpaper. You can purchase the velcro pre cut for the cab and put it on the Bruns. You can use abralon on both with the velcro.

snowspike1...

You will not regret buying a spinner. I have owned one for several years and it has been a good investment for me. Cab blocks are nice and if people use them it is really just a matter of choice. Cab blocks will help you keep even pressure on the ball and prevent rounding the holes in the ball after several times of use. I started using clear plastic packing tape to cover the thumb hole, mainly to keep the water or polish out of the thumb hole. I realized that this will also prevent rounding the holes. The slugs and grips will wear down your abralon pads quicker than anything, even with light pressure. Have fun with your new toy.
