Title: Shark & Viper
Post by: AlonzoHarris on May 05, 2019, 06:53:04 PM
Bowled Shark and Viper dual pattern tournament recently. Talk about exposing weaknesses. I’ve become a bit lazy and relaxed with bowling on a house shot for league that I was not keeping my shots tight enough at all.

Viper is a fun one that has become one of my favorites now as you can play it so many different ways. It's tough but very playable

My Viper progression was Code X up the boards ~8ish depending how that pair played. Then to the IQ Tour same line. Then a big move in to play about 25-10 with the Hyroad Pearl. I was not impressed with my accuracy playing out though at all. Kept tugging it in.

My progression has been Freak Show Solid or Melee Cross at 2000 to start with closed angles to the outside, big move inside to Absolute Nirvana or KingPin Gold, and then down to Tag Cannon for more length and backend.

When I've followed pairs with urethane I can stay with a stronger ball for longer before dropping down to my Tag Cannon. If no urethane in front of me, I can go to the Tag around game 4-5.

I think I've bowled 4 tournaments on it now and have been able to do fairly well with this progression

We never realize how much we miss left until we get on something flat.

That’s the truth haha. I would like to try a season with my house pattern flattened down a bit. Modify it down to 4:1.
