Sharpening a plug cutter
« on: April 25, 2009, 11:38:34 PM »
has anyone had any luck with this? I have take it to a machine shop and they told me that they cannot do it because of the contour in it. Should I find another machine shop or buy a new one?

You might check with your local tool and die or machine shops to find out where they have their cutting tools sharpened or call John at Innovative Bowling Products to see if he sharpens them or if he can recommend someone.  Good luck.

corey you dont want to sharpen it. the first machine shop is right you cant because of the contour. once one edge gets a few mills out of wack its going to cut balls left right n centre. a dull blade on a plug cutter is better than a sharp one. if anything just get it cleaned.
