Shipping a Bowling Ball

I was wondering if anyone has a good way to ship a bowling ball (UPS, USPS, FedEx etc) for a rate that's reasonable.

I have a bunch of bowling balls new and used that I am wanting to sell, but last time I sold them on eBay, shipping costs were absolutely ridiculous. Hard to sell a $10-15 ball when shipping is $45.

Shipping a bowling ball is going to be expensive. Sign up for A UPS account so you get a small discount but even then it’s going to cost around $15 to ship it locally or up to $45 if it has to travel further.

They are. I'm in Southern California, here's my last shipping:

Massachusetts - $13.30
Houston - $19
Kansas - $11.79
Oklahoma - $11.79
Northern California - $6.79
Golf clubs (iron set) to Michigan - $19

Pirate ship as well.

Shipping bowling balls with it was better then with my fedex account or ups account to the point i stopped checking them.

Shipping heavier stuff in car audio over 50lbs was still way cheaper. However they do it i hope they stay around.

Be aware with Pirate ship, you can get a additional bill from them after the item has been shipped.

Haven't had that happen on bowling balls. No issues with using 9x9x9 boxes and listing as 17lbs.

Golf clubs I shipped were originally higher priced and got reduced down to $19 so I got a credit on my account

I had it happen twice with USPS shipping and once with UPS. But that was with shipping 115 balls over about two months' time.

That can happen with any service including fedex or ups accounts (even ebay) if they reweigh it and measure and its different from what you listed it can make the price go up or down more. With pirate ship i have had one price go up slightly and one down slightly after shipping. Typically its not really a concern unless you are close to the 50lb mark where they tack on additional fees if it weighs 50lbs or more.
