Shock & Awe OR Vertigo?
« on: May 06, 2005, 02:06:08 PM »
I'm having a bit of a problem choosing what ball I am going to be getting next.  I have a sport shot league coming up, and I'll be getting the Vertigo and the Shock and Awe throughout the course of the next few months throughout the league.  The problem is, they'll be purchased a few months apart.

A little about my game.

I usually throw with a higher backswing than most players, but I have been working on my game to develop a bit more than a shoulder high backswing which I know I'll be using throughout the course of this league.  I usually have pretty high speed with high revs, but can adjust wrist positions, ball speed, turn, etc if needed, but high speed with high revs is pretty much my "bread and butter" release.

I was told that if I was to get a new ball, to go with a higher top weighted ball.  I also decided that I'd drill it pretty much straight up, nothing fancy at all.  I'm not sure about pin position or anything like that, because I never really discussed it much with my pro shop guy.  If anyone would like to talk on this subject over aim, please IM me at CnidariaBassist, because at the moment I am torn between the two balls.

I also have .gifs of me bowling with many different styles, just to give you an idea of how I bowl.  Thanks for reading.  Any help is appreciated.

I'd say Veritgo just off the basic stuff you gave us but what would really help, what are the lanes like, do you know? Sport shot can be a variety of things...but I'll say Vertigo as well.

surface adjustments can be made for all balls....so either can be polished or sanded.......

Throwing on a sport shot I wouldn't think you'd want anything 'snappy', that being said, taking the polish off of a Shock & Awe and putting the control drill on it would be nice.......

I'm sure you could make both balls work.....

They are very different......

The Vertigo is a fairly strong asymetric ball and the S&A is a very strong asymetric ball....V is solid, the S&A is a strong pearl (activator + cover)

After talking it over with some friends and pro shop guys, I think I've decided that I'm going to get a Track Crash and a Brunswick Monster Bruiser, because I can get both for the same price as just one of the other balls.

Thanks for the replies though.
