Title: Shooting a series in the foot
Post by: 10pin2002 on December 27, 2003, 01:07:32 AM: With the "funny series" post, how many of y'all have shot a 6, 7, or even 800 series in the foot and then bowled great after that?

My memorable ones:
Last 5 strikes in a series to shoot 597 (high hit in 7th frame)
Last 6 strikes in a series to shoot 697 (4-pin in 6th frame)
Last 6 to shoot 695

The ultimate at one of the local houses:

180 the first game. Then 300, 300 to shoot a 780.

Post by: rabbit_sla on December 27, 2003, 04:50:51 PM: I had a good one this year. Shot 236-225, had a 4 bagger in the beginning of the 3rd game and blew it away with a 187. It was a good series for me (648), but I missed my 1st 700.

243-247-176=666
279-257-162=698

The 698 was especially frustrating because it should have been my first 700.

Post by: rddrgn on December 27, 2003, 11:26:21 PM: Last year I had 267,142,268. Funny thing was that my teammates announced my 142 game and all night I had people coming up and asking how bad my set was. The look on their face when I replied that I had a 677 was priceless.

I have a couple i can remember that went from being good to WTF.

On my monday nite league, i probably have more of these stories than anyone.

ok, heres how they go,, try going 259,247,160, or 157-278-243, or, a couple weeks ago, i go 183,202,300 lol nice 685, and still havent shot 700 in this house in 3 yrs, lol.

Or, on my Thursday nite league, i went 744 clean, and only had two single pin spares, one was during my 279, left a 7pin , and left a 10pin, in the first game, all the other spares where the 3-6-9 lol. and was clean for the nite.

yet, the nite before i had 5 opens and still shot 703 lol.

I remember one of my 1st 300's was sandiched between 2 175 games

149-223-263=635
179-217-257=653
189-253-227=669

Maybe I need to carry only a 1 ball bag and only take my Emerald with me.
