15 lbs. 15 oz.
« on: May 29, 2008, 03:36:45 PM »
Is this a 16 lb ball? Or, is this a 15# or 16# 2nd quality?

It doesn't seem right to me that this is a first quality 16# ball, as it was presented to me.

Also, I have owned about 6 LevRG, Nsane LevRG and Solid LevRG. All of them had the three digit code on the label on the box (on the side listing ball, ball weight, pin and tw) match the the first three digits (letters or numbers) match EXACTLY with the ball in the box.

This particular ball does not match. The first two letters match the ball but the third does not. I am suspicious that this is not the original box of the ball. Please let me know your thoughts.

Sir, i believe USBC rules state anything over 12oz. goes to the next wieght.
A 15Lbs. 15 oz ball is a 16 lbs.
A 14lbs. 13 oz ball is a 15 lbs.
A 14lbs. 11 oz ball is a 14 lbs.

Golfnut,  This is a commom problem.  A customer asks for a 16lbs. ball and gets a ball that says 15 lbs. 14 oz. Most customer's do the same thing you did, question it.  However there should be nothing wrong with your ball.

I noticed you go thru many balls in a season.  I assume they are all 16 lbs.?
You might want to consider trying a 15 lbs. ball.  You may be surprised at the results.  With today's high tech weight blocks,  you will not lose any pin action going to the lighter ball, and more then likely will gain more finger action and more revs with the lighter ball.

I would say that today, 80% of all balls sold { between 15 & 16 } are 15 lbs.

Good luck with your ball.

Golf,

A 15Lbs. 15 oz ball is a 16 lbs.
A 14lbs. 13 oz ball is a 15 lbs.
A 14lbs. 11 oz ball is a 14 lbs.
This is pretty much the standard for identifying the ball weight. But, what I would be concerned with is if the ball is marked 15.15 oz. or 15lb. 15oz. There is a big difference between the two. =:^D

It is marked "15 lbs 15 oz.". I'll just weigh it before it's drilled to be certain however. Thanks.
