The last couple of times I have bowled the Viper I used a Roto Grip Pluto drilled for some length and played just an ever so slight swing in the track. I liked the Pluto because its surface allowed me to stay with it for the entire night just moving tighter and deeper as the night went on.

Last summer bowling the PBAX I had my biggest sets on Viper playing about 11 at the arrows to 7 staying up the back of the ball and clean at release (no grab, grab would make the ball go left FAST). Lanes are Anvilane synthetics I belive. Shot 660 the first week and 693 (high set in league) the next.  I threw the ball really good these two weeks and I can tell that if I didn't this pattern would be brutal.  Had hold room if I hit 8 at the breakpoint, but didn't have an option to hit 6 as the ball would just never get back.  Speed is premium.  I was throwing a pin up Visionary New Breed Pearl at 1000 abralon and a pretty good polish.  Good skid thru the front with some teeth underneath the polish.  Don't ask me about Shark haha.
