Should i switch to 16lbs
« on: October 26, 2009, 07:21:29 AM »
Hey everyone, I am a 220 average bowler and I threw 16lbs equipment for about 5 years and then dropped down to 15 because I bought a ball that was marked a 16 but was really a 15.  So I did not want to get rid of it and just got more 15lbs stuff.  However, my ball is registering as 18-19mph at the pindeck, which people have said it must be at 20 off my hand.  Sometimes I feel like the ball is not reacting as well as it could if my ball speed was not so fast.  I was wondering if going up to 16lbs would help any or if that might mess up anything?  When I try to hold the ball down lower etc to get it slower my timing gets messed up.

i would move up on the lanes, or like i did i went to 16 lbs and that helped kept everything in check for me slowed my ball speed rolled off my hand cleaner and mechanics stayed in check because it was that 1 pound heavier.

Are you scoring better now than when you were throwing 16 lbs?  If so, don't change.  --  JohnP
