Watch the generalizations, guys! There are sooooo many, many variables these days and we recognize and deal with them day to day.
Louie,
Believe me I understand where you're coming from; been there, done that.
I ask,
please consider adjusting your original statement to include the concept of time and quantity: "of the balls you have tried so far, it seems that the higher Rg balls suit your game better." Honestly, there are so many factors, we need a database bigger than our brain to reference as we talk and type about all these balls AND their drillings. Remember drillings (pin position) can raise or lower the initial RG and change the flare potential of every ball we play with.
Mr. Marlowe and I have had several discussions on this topic. I used to love Columbia's higher RG balls and all pearlized. Lately, lower RG balls seem to suit me. Tehn I drill Low Rg balls with the pin over th ebridge to raise the RG .... I emphasize the word, "Seem".
What suits me seems to change with every new ball and new technology development: particle pearls, Soaker coverstocks, pearl/solid combos or resin and particle, Accelerator coverstocks, Activator coverstocks, and on and on ...
Maybe it does for you also. We want to pigeon-hole our needs and wants but it's not always possible. Trying to do so may limit your options, like the people who insist on using only the balls from a single ball company. It's nice, it's easy, it's convenient, we don't have to think, but it's not always the right thing to do.
I know I've resolved nothing and opened "more cans of potential worms", but such is life.
