I've got another reason why posting the oil pattern makes no difference:
Experience. How many bowlers can do anything knowing the OP. 99.99999% of us have no idea what the actual pattern has been for the past 2 - 50 years. So even if they posted it, we would not know what it means to us.
One of my housse did post the shot 3 years ago. Like the ABC oil pattern, we had no idea what it meant to us personally, since we never had that frame of reference before. We can talk and surmise all you want, but the bottom line is that practically speaking it means less than nothing to us.
The other item Ihad forgotten about was mentioned above. Like a ball's cover and its core cannot be separated, you cannot separate an oil pattern from the surface on which it is laid, not from the atmospheric environment in which it is used (humidity, temperature), not the bowler and the type of balls used. This 3 items are all linked to the final picture.
This is why laying out the ABC pattern on lanes other than the ABC lanes them selves means very little.
