Sadly he's going to be known for his 100 game all his life.  They blasted it all over ESPN, it was the talk of leagues everywhere.

Ahhh Disco Biscuits!

"They blasted it all over ESPN"?

What would you expect? They are a sports and entertainment network, so unusual occurences in sports, both good AND bad, will be displayed there for all to see.

Its too bad it had to happen, but it did. He will live to fight another day and, if he's smart, will learn to laugh about it as hard as the rest of them. He knows it was a flukish, freakish thing, just like everybody that watched it should.

I mean, what's the odds that EVERY bad shot you throw would leave a split like those he left?

He'll move on, and so should we.

"Yeah, I throw AMF. What's it to ya"?

Yes I felt bad for him... I just wished he would have got out of Mika's way... Mika was on 9 in a row and this guy is hooting and slapping hands cause he got 8 pins in the 10th...

There was no need for that... It probably would have been ok if Mika was just finishing out a 240 or 269 game...But he was going for a 300...

When someone is going for a 300, you don't clown around and hold them up, not even for a minute...You get out of their way...IMO

Do you really think it bother Mika that he was fooling around and making light of his situation?  If anything, it probably calmed Mika and gave him something else to think about.  And dont forget...Mika already has a 300 on TV under his belt...plus he already won the match back in the 5th frame.  I've met Mika before and I don't think he cared.

Don't know, had it happen to me once in league play...

I didn't like it...

Most people I know will get out of the way of someone going for a 300...

I totally agree with JLS. I was thinknig the whole time he was excited about finally getting to triple digits  that mika should go punch him.

On the other hand its obvious that it didnt bother Mika which is good for Tom, because if Mika got up and threw a bad shot he could have put total blame on Tom making an ass of himself.

I have to admit, it struck me as a bit thoughtless to be celebrating when your competitor is going for 300.  It didn't seem intentional so I wouldn't say it was unsportsmanlike, but it was certainly a bit careless.  I can't imagine that he's never been in a situation when a fellow bowler was on a 300 or he himself was on it and people usually get out of the way.
With that being said, the moment was probably overwhelming for him and he was faced with first time on TV and shooting 100.  That's a pretty tough situation so it's understandable.
I was just glad Mika picked up the first 2 which indicated to me that he wasn't affected.

Laughing at yourself and playing to the crowd a little was fine, but taking the time for a round of high 5's was excessive for me.  I really don't think he was trying to ice Mika, but it could have been interpreted that way if Mika threw a bad ball in the 10th.

I think it helped Mika knowing he had won the tournament after the 4th frame. Everything after that was bonus. Still, hate that the new equipment couldn't get him another 300 on TV.

He won that match...He still had to bowl in the finals...I believe he shot 269 to win the tournament..

And maybe it didn't bother Mika at all... But when someone is going for a 300, the decent thing to do is get out of there way... Especially if your shooting a 100 score...High 5's for a 100 score...That was tacky....

Maybe Storm should change the name on the ball he was using.....   And leave Ebonite alone...

Stop being so critical. Sure he had a very bad day, but he will get over it. As for Mika, it didn't bother him at all. I heard Tom on ESPN radio and he is a good sport and will be back.

Have any of you ever had a seriously bad game. I would have been happy to get to 100 also. Relax and have fun with it, Tom has.

If you didn't like that strike, watch this one!

the bottom line mika won  $250,000 --- i dont think that bothered him at all.  i believe he wanted to make up for his gaff the week before, and he did. but tom should of sat down.

100?  Wow, guess I missed it.  Must have been some really bad shots.

As far as hooking the lane being all about "skill,"  the lanes are filled with plenty of skilled bowlers doing that with house balls during cosmic bowling every Friday and Saturday night.

They don't use their thumb either!
