Simonize on a ball?
« on: October 11, 2008, 09:53:24 AM »
I wonder what you think of this: A 215 average bowler told me that he uses an old Hammer Razor Blade that has over 1,000 games on it. He says that he bakes it in the home oven every 100 games, then rubs it with a very fine sand paper and finally polishes it with Simonize wax. He uses it on medium oil conditions and it works wonders. He's a stroker playing between the 2nd and 3rd arrow.

Martin.

He must have either some VERY slow ball speed or some very high revs to get it to move at all if he coats it with wax. The particles in the Razor Blade (it's a particle pearl) may be helping him get some traction, becuase he sure isn't getting it from the resin with clogged pores.

This is definitely Not a procedure to be recommended for a bowling ball. He's one extremely lucky guy.

I agree with charlest. The best way to make a ball go STRAIGHT. Lanes must be pretty dry...
