Simple Green
« on: July 16, 2007, 08:12:13 AM »
How is the best way to use this for cleaning bowling balls?  I think someone said to make a mixture of 1 part simple green to 1 part alcohol.  Is this correct?

By the way, this stuff is hard to find.  I went to Walmart, K-Mart, Target and several grocery stores before finding it at a Publix Grocery.

Thanks for the help.

I like to use it in a 1:1:1 ratio of simple green:alcohol:water...  To me, it seems a little too strong or "sudsy" without the water.

I buy it in a container of wipes, makes it very easy and convenient. I store them in my locker and use after league. I find them at my local hardware store.

For me, it's 50/50 with water. Used it for years, and it works great.

The mixture would be legal for use during competition as well. All three, Simple Green, Isopropyl Alchohol and water are OK. Any other Alchohol would be illegal anytime.

i have used a 1part simple green and 3 parts alcohol for years. It is a great solution. I get the simple green at Home Depot and the alcohol at Costco. A very cheap cleaner.

Simple Green is a good product. I think Zep is much better. It really can lift out the oil out of the ball. I think Home Depot is the only place I have seen it sold.
