Title: skid flip drill for a spinner?
Post by: Matt Fortney on September 12, 2013, 01:28:12 AM
Any experience with a good skid flip layout to use for a bowler with a spinner release? Slowish speed, definitely spins the ball. Everything she has is drilled 4x4 and hooks and sets. Do I just go by her pap and treat it like normal? Any advice is appreciated. Thanks guys.

Matt

The ball and the surface is going to be a factor along with the lane conditions. With so little information there is only guesses.

A spinner usually has a very low pap and I've seen some with pap around 2-1/2" over by almost 2" up, which places the pap closer to grip center than other bowling styles. With that being said I drill a lot of those with the pin left of middle finger for right handed bowlers. Hammer layout sheets are great about showing the different tracking styles, low, medium, and high tracks. As kidlost said, we need more info and you need to think differently when dealing with spinners. Just my $.02, Bruce

What bowling balls is the bowler currently using?
