Slide Problems
« on: December 17, 2008, 11:03:33 AM »
I'm having an issue right now with sliding too much.... I'm a planter using an S1 and H1 combination with my Dexter shoes and am still sliding too much.

What I'm looking at doing is taking a T5 sole from the SST8 shoes to use as my sliding sole. My question is how will the T5 compare to the S1 as far as friction goes????

I would just use a T3 or T1 to solve the problem but I slide on the toe of the sole on my sliding foot as a pushoff.

Any other thoughts and ideas are welcome too!

Thanks!!

Do you slide at all?  If you do not Brunswick makes a product that is designed as a power step for the opposite of the slide foot.  You might be able to use this product to plant with.  We developed a product like this years ago and ours had absolutely no slide at all.  I have not seen the Brunswick product other than pictures.  The next suggestion might be finding a pair of tennis shoes with soles that are acceptable.  They need to meet a few requirements.

I don't slide at all. Problem is that tennis shoes aren't allowed in PBA comp.

Any more info on the brunswick thing, i haven't heard anything about it

There used to be a rubber sole for Dexter shoes some time ago - actually as an alternative to shoe gloves.

That's a great idea.  Little expensive but should get the job done and look the best.

Yes, but make sure one pair is for right handed and the other for left handed.  --  JohnP
