Price check!!!!!!!!! Pro shop guys
« on: November 10, 2009, 01:32:13 AM »
I am just curious as to what everyone has got for prices beginning with plastic balls right up to high end balls. What are you selling a lot of a order and what kind of promotions do you run in order to boost sales. I'd like to boost my sales a bit and need a bit of advice.Thanks.

Here is the problem i am having. I drill in ontario canada and a guy less than an hour away in Michigan is selling highend balls for 150-160 out the door and im wondering how he can sell the balls so cheap and turn a profit. Is there something im missing? is there a cheaper distribution company? I go through Dilaura currently.

Lol.. Then don't shop bowling equipment in Denmark if you were to come here for a vacation..

Prices are just about twice as much here..

I've seen some high-end balls go for $245 drilled.  I think that's a lot.

I paid that for a Lane#1 bal labout 3 or 4 years ago.  Worst ball I ever had.  They are very pricey for not a great product in my opinion.

KRAKKEN, dont let one bad ball make your mind up about one particular company, it could have just been the wrong ball for you, wrong drilling etc... If i made my mind up like that id have to start my own ball company because ive had duds from just about every company out there!

That may be true, but the LANE#1 balls cost way more than most other balls (At least they do here in MD) so for those prices I am not willing to take the risk.

Would have been different if I had a Lane#1 ball and it was good, then bought another and didn't like it.  Kinda tough to give it the 2nd chance when the first one is a dud.  That ball didn't do anything.  I scuffed it, polished it, used it on heavy, med light.  Didn't matter.  went 60ft dead straight.

Besides, can't give up the Roto Grip balls now.  They have been great.  One or two Duds  *cough Mars*  but overall been exceptional for me.

that may have been true say 6 months ago, but now Lane #1 has their prices comparable to other companies, take a look at bowlingball.com for instance. Lane #1''s Massacre Red Death is 149.99, Storm''s Virtual Gravity is 144.99. But to each his own, i really dont care for Brunswick, i havent had any success with them since the first run of the Zone line. But it doesnt mean they are bad balls is what im getting at.

as for the original question, here in N.C., Upper End balls: $210-220 w/ grips.
Mid-Level balls like Storm''s Fast: $180-195
Lower Level balls like Brunswick''s Avalanche: $125-140

stopncrank, are you the new Lane #1 defender?  Or are you just T-God, Steven, bowlerdawg and roy munson.

Sure why not? Have you even thrown Lane #1 stuff, probably not you probably dont even bowl. Kinda hard to bowl when your behind a computer screen in your mom's basement worrying about the next thread being posted on the Lane #1 forum.....
