Which ball company

would be the best to build an arsenal around? This subject is talked about quite a bit at my local bowling alley so I was hoping to get some opinions from other people around the country..

Their is no best choice, All the companies are putting out a good product  it all depends on what you as the bowler are looking for. If you like Storms gear they are the best choice, if you like Big B then they are the best choice 900 makes great stuff also and they have a full lineup.

As mainzer said. All the companies are making quality stuff. My question to you is if your not getting the stuff for free from a ball rep or someone you know who can get you stuff why limit to just one company? If you were getting on staff or had an obligation to throw just Hammer, Track, Storm, Brunswick, etc then I could see staying with one company why not try different things from different companies. This could give you a wide variety of balls and reactions. Each company has their "general" ball shape. Storm long and angular, Brunswick more rolly etc. Try all the companies and make a quality arsenal

Like everyone else has said, there really is not 1 best manufacturer to go with.  All of the companies are producing great products that fit a lot of different styles.  For me, I found that Storm and Roto Grip have been great for my arsenal so far.  However, I really like a lot of what 900 Global is putting out lately, especially the Bank Pearl and Raw Profit.  It's possible I may add them for a ball or two.  I used to use Brunswick and Columbia 300.  Their newer stuff did not give me the looks I wanted on the lane for my style.  But, they both have good products on the market and are worth considering.
 

Some pro shops have demo balls from each of the different companies with interchangable grips that you can throw to get an idea of what works best for you.  If you can find a shop near you doing that, definitely go there.  It's worth it.

I agree there are a lot of great companies to choose from. For me it is Brunswick. Their scale on how they rate their equipment has been very accurate. It makes it easy for me to compare their equipment from one release to another. Even with older releases and overseas equipment.

One advantage to staying with one company is that you know what to expect, and more accurately make comparisons from ball to ball. In my opinion, top to bottom, Storm/Roto has the most complete lineup, but Brunswick is a close second. Ebonite makes good equipment, but their lack of a current urethane release makes their lineup incomplete. Same with 900G,AMF has urethane, but its so darn strong and difficult to polish.

If at all possible, it might be a good idea to get to a demo day.  I know Storm/Roto Grip have them as well as Ebonite, bringing out their 4 brands.  I haven't seen a Brunswick one, although I will say I've had an opportunity to test all balls in their current lineup and am pleasantly surprised, not only how well the balls rolled for me, but how well they complimented each other up and down the lineup.  It's very easy to know what each ball is meant to do.  I've also had a chance to do that with Storm. 
As others have mentioned, most of us are not limited to one manufacturer so you may want to look at different manufacturers.  
My current personal arsenal has a mix of Roto Grip, Hammer, Ebonite, and Columbia.   I've had some Storm, Motiv and 900 Global mixed in as well.  However, my personal feeling is that you need to get to know the equipment well to create an arsenal, which is a bit harder if you mix and match manufacturers because you don't know exactly how ball A from one manufacturer compliments ball B from another.
