The other day I was practicing at my local center trying to get used to a couple of new balls that I just had drilled.  It was in the middle of the afternoon and there was one other lane being used (in a 40 lane center).  I see the lane guy come out with the lane machine and think, "well, I've got a little while before he gets to me."  I was on lane 26 and was just getting used to the lane and how to play it.  So...does he start at lane 1 or lane 40?  Niether...he starts at 26!  And, to top it off, he doesn't even say anything to me.  I was on the approach, lining up, and he just walked in front of me and put the machine down on the lane!  Again, it was only practice; but, it was very annoying!  The good news is that I bowled better with the fresh oil!

You would think he'd say something to you though...  I've been at lanes practicing when they needed to re-oil, and they've always started on one end and worked across, asking me if I mind them oiling now, or if I'd prefer to finish up and have them come back after getting the rest of the lanes.

Can't say from 3rd party what his intentions were.  Could have been he was thinking you'd appreciate the fresh shot.  Still baffles me he didn't say something to that affect before beginning though.
