I wanted to put out a poll and ask . Do you think its right that junior bowlers are alowed to enter adult tournaments to compete for top prize but instead of being awarded cash they receive money into college fund . some people in my area are against it and im not sure why. I see it like this it increases entries.  with the ecnomy the way it is now a days is not a bad thing it does not affect the prize ratio and if you an adult you still receive cash at the end of the tournament and from what ive seen most if the youth bowlers are not annoying. I also see it as a good way for the youth to use there ability to help them with there education. would like to hear what people have to say on this because i think your going to see more tournaments pop up like this in the future. thanks scott

thats how i feel lace them up and see how u do its part of the game. Average requirement totaly agree thats a good point.it should be up to the association and tournament directors to set limits for kids and it also gives them experience

to be honest dale im not sure what happens to the money either but i would have to think that if a youth bowler is going to bowl for scholarship money that they have the intentions of going to college. if not that money should be put into a funf to promote youth bowling and maybe try to help some youth that are less fortunate help them acheive there goals i alos think the usbc should have a limit on how much a youth bowler can earn if they decide to enter a adult tournaments through the smart program.I understand where you are coming from its nice to see some discusion without it turning stupid or arguementive. if this discussion interests you would love to hear somemore thoughs on it

thanks debina thats good to know.so after hearing that I say let the kids bowl. it could be a win win for all.

And that is just plan wrong, if I pay the money into a tournament and I would like to par take in a beverage than I should be able to do so regardless of who is also participating.
In no way should adults have to change the way they do things just because the junior program of a local association says so. I know it's a USBC rule, but still. Where do you think the money to run alot of junior programs come from, the adults pay for a lot of the bowling.

If you want to get technical if they are bowling in the tournament you can't drink alcoholic beverages or smoke. Just think about how many bowlers will start to cry about that.
