I won't be using a sanded polyester ball, but I'm thinking about punching up a 3 piece urethane ball with an old school off label layout to see how much it will flare.
I already use one drilled label for my spare ball.

My guess is the sanding of plastic balls in this tourney mainly had to do with speed control.

i believe chris barnes stated on the telecast he'd dulled his ball with a 500 abralon pad and had the heavy spot placed in a leverage position plus had a big hole.
