Bummer...
« on: February 22, 2009, 11:03:39 PM »
Yesterday morning I went to the first day of the new Sports Shot league at my local Brunswick center.  I was really looking forward to playing on the PBA patterns for this short season.  Only two people showed up.  Two.  Of course they cancelled the league.

At least the manager let us bowl as many games as we wanted for free on the Viper pattern they put down.  I was pleased that it wasn't as difficult as I thought it would be...averaged 192.

may have to do a little digging to find a healthy PBA_X league

when guys average 220 on a THS, and they think they can just come on a difficult oil pattern, and average the same..............well its a sad sight to see grown men cry, and watch their ego's deflate right before your eyes

so they drop like flies, but the real ballers want the challenge.

Sounds like the first time the house closest to me tried to do a PBA Experience league.

Your best bet is to encourage them to heavily push the league, focusing on finding a night of the week that doesn't have many big, popular leagues.  Summer sport shot leagues also can work pretty well.  They need to put an emphasis on advertising the "improve your game" aspect of the league, maybe even have someone there to offer some coaching advice during league, etc.
