Smoothest player now or past
« on: June 01, 2005, 03:31:48 AM »
I think David Ozzio is one of the smoothest players ever and the other side of it would probably either Earl Anthony or Parker Bohn 3
But un smoothest would be WRW and Me lol

I don't think we opted to film the teams this year at ABC.  I'll check to see if anyone did.  It would all be from the rear of Ozio.  The best view is from the side.

Some of you guys spook mein terms of wh is  smooth. Which is what was asked, Not who is your favorite bowler.

Richard Wolf
David Ozio
Parker Bohn - not in same class as above but only by a smidge

Ability to be smooth but not "A" game: Doug Kent and Joe Firpo.

Of modern players Richard Wolfe.

Best ever Dave Davis.

And not just in his prime.  Because when the senior tour sort of wound down or stopped being on TV 2 years ago Dave was still making finals at about 58.

There was not a doubt he would have won again.  He had a knee injury that was doing much better and man you should have seen him throwing it!

As smooth as Parker is it's another notch up to Dave Davis.

HM..

I see I am still the only person to vote for Dick Weber. He was smooth throughout his entire career. Infact, watching some of the older videos of him from the 60s-70s and having bowled with him a couple of times.......is it me or did he look exactly the same when he was younger as he did up until the last time he bowled?

So I am placing another vote for Dick Weber.

Ex, did DW still have the "fly-away" follow thru when he was older?

i'm surprised nobody else has mentioned the late don johnson. i've only seen him on tape but he's very fluid---no wasted movement.

Fluid, like Parker Bohn, but, and this is just the way I feel when I see them, not smooth.

Dave Davis was smooth, as in, all his joints are made of teflon; Parker is fluid, as in, he is flowing, as if on water. That's as good as words permit me to show the difference.

For being more of a power player Ameleto is pretty smooth.
Can't recall many of the older players right now so I can't list them.
For current PBA members I would have to go with Parker, Voss, would have to agree with Machuga, Duke, Ameleto, and Barnes.
Would not mind being as smooth as any of them are.
