into a #16 NIB Brunswick Black Beauty. got to follow that up with a plugged up black hammer. If it wasn't for the purdy storm balls on the wall and in stock, shop would of reeked for days of bug spray and burning tires

LOL, the rubber balls are horrible on the smell, My local shop opens all of the windows for a couple hours and uses a lot of febreeze for it, its bad. Really opens up your nasal cavities though.

Burgundy and Black Hammers rank right up there for worst smelling balls to work on. I hate having to resurface the Black Hammers, wow what a horrible experience.

any one considered buying a gas mask

The local proshops normally have very small cabins where they have the drill press ... most of them with no window at all...

Now imagine drilling 4 balls in a row without any slightes chance of air change...

I don't dare to think about what a rubber ball then would cause in those rooms ...

Rubber must be hell...

Worst smells I witnessed so far were my 7 year old Revolution Renegade which spreaded such a sharp odor... YUCK! Anothre great smelly was my Eraser Particle Pearl. Very strong odor when it came, but when heated through the drill bits it was simply too much. Scorched lemons!

Our shop has gotten to the point of:  1) either refusing to resurface or drill rubber balls,  or 2) giving a used reactive ball to the customer so we don't have to air out the shop for days...

Many times when one of these balls come in it's because someone inherited it from their Dad and it has sentimental value.  Sell them a ball cup for $2 and have them display it prominently somewhere else!!!

When I first read the title to this thread, I thought you made a bad choice leaving the bar last night.

reminds me of spoiled eggs, or walking pass the chemistry class room in high school.

you drilled a new black beauty?????

why?????

and where was this customer for the last 30 years?????

no joking>>>> they should be charged extra,  to handle the cost of cleaning up the smell.
